RoboCup China Open 2014

Introduction

RoboCup is an international academic and educational initiative. It aims to foster AI and Robotics research by providing standard problems where a wide range of technologies can be developed, integrated and examined, as well as being used for integrated project-oriented education.

The RoboCup China Open 2014 is an international event to promote RoboCup research, education and competition in China. It will be held in Hefei, Anhui Province on October 10-12. It is also the main “antecedent” event for RoboCup 2015, Hefei at the same venue.

Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, was founded more then 2000 years ago, with about an 8 million population now. It locates in east-central part of China, about 400km west to Shanghai and 900km south to Beijing. The local economy has increased unbelievably remarkably in recent years, and the municipal government is investigating lots on R&D in high-tech industries, including Robotics.

The Venue

Anhui International Conference & Exhibition Center
The venue will be the Anhui International Conference & Exhibition Center, with about 11,000sqm space being used for the competition.

Registration, Logistics and Co-located Event

The competition requires a registration fee, 200BRM for each qualified team.

Participants can choose to stay in assigned hotels near the venue within 15min driving distance. Shuttle buses between these hotels and the venue are free for registered participants.

The competition is co-located with the annual Chinese Robot Competition, which consists of robot competitions that are not included in international RoboCup competition. Most of these competitions are suitable for non-robotics-major undergraduates.
